Summer tech internships

If you’re studying tech (or just really into it), this is your chance to get hands-on experience in the real world while earning money.

Students should submit a short application including:

1 page cover letter explaining why you are interested in taking part in the internship.

and

Short video (max 2 mins) demonstrating your interest in technology and why you want the internship

This summer internship provides a hands-on introduction to working in a real-world tech environment.
By the end of the internship, the student will have:
- Gained practical experience working in a tech business
- Developed confidence using tech tools
- Improved communication and teamwork skills
- A clearer understanding of career pathways in tech
During the internship you will:
- Assist with technology tasks
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas
- Shadow team members to learn about various roles
- Complete a small project or presentation at the end of the internship
- Follow workplace policies around safety, conduct, and confidentiality
Three internships are available at one of the following employers:
- AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand
- RealNZ
- Skyline
Term
4 weeks in total over December 2025 and January 2026.
Dates will be agreed individually with the employing company.
Hours
30 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 9am - 4pm
Location
You must be able to work in person at the company’s office (Queenstown or Frankton) for the duration of the term.
Pay
$25 per hour
Open to Year 12 or 13 students attending high school the Queenstown Lakes or Central Otago Districts.
You must either studying technology or demonstrate a strong interest in technology, innovation, or digital skills.
